Hearing4all.connects – Research agenda for new funding phase
Hearing4all.connects: Innovative Technologies for Hearing Health – from the ear to the brain to society
Following two successful applications, Hearing4all is applying for a subsequent funding period from 2026. The interdisciplinary research alliance has made considerable progress over the past ten years. It has already been achieved to optimise the sound quality and speech intelligibility of hearing aids, to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into hearing devices and to advance cochlear implant technology.
With an ambitious research agenda for the next funding period, Hearing4all aims to initiate a new era in hearing health research – such as the development of data-driven solutions for hearing aids, research into the genetic causes of hearing loss with a view to new treatment options or the investigation of social-communicative factors in hearing comprehension.
The full proposal was submitted to the German Research Foundation (DFG) on 22 August 2024 and the decision will be made in May 2025.
