EUHA Sponsorship Award for Early Career Researcher from Oldenburg
The EUHA Sponsorship Awards 2025 were presented at the 69th Congress of the European Union of Hearing Aid Acousticians (EUHA) in Nuremberg. Third prize went to Chen Xu, early-career researcher at the University of Oldenburg in the Hearing4all Cluster of Excellence. The jury honored Xu’s doctoral thesis, “Crucial Elements of a Virtual Hearing Clinic on Mobile Devices: Psychophysics, Diagnostic Parameter Estimation, and Validation.” In addition to prize money of €1,000, the award gives Xu the opportunity to present his research at the EUHA Congress, in a specialist journal, and on the EUHA website.
In his dissertation, Xu investigated key elements of the “Virtual Hearing Clinic” – a central concept of the Hearing4all Cluster of Excellence, which aims to create low-threshold access to hearing diagnostics and rehabilitation using mobile devices.
