Edgar Auris’ first case: The daughter of entrepreneur Gottlieb Berger is worried. Again and again her father sneaks into the opera under the most ridiculous pretexts, meets a stranger in the foyer and exchanges mysterious packages with him. Edgar Auris is commissioned to get to the bottom of this mystery with an eavesdropping attack. Unfortunately, the recording with a conventional microphone proves to be ineffective.
