Retrospect – Hearing4all 1.0

Our past…

Since 2012, our cluster has been funded as a so-called cluster of excellence within the “Excellence Strategy”. In the first funding period of Hearing4all (2013-2019), we succeeded in combining three classically separate areas of diagnosis, hearing aids and assistive technology in hearing assistance into one highly interdisciplinary, goal-oriented research unit.

Together and in a large number of individual projects, the three research fields have achieved findings and results that have either been/are being exploited in cooperation with industry or form the basis of current research questions.

You can learn more about the questions of the three research fields in these video contributions:

Research area A – Better diagnosis for better individual treatment

Research area B – Better hearing aids

Research Area C – Basic Research for Assistive Audio Technology

We would like to present some examples of individual projects from the first funding phase that have decisively advanced hearing research and thus the communicative situation of all of us.
