2. Co-development of Hardware and Software for Hearing Devices

Co-development of Hardware and Software for Hearing Devices

The main objective of this project is to develop ultra-low-power hardware accelerators and (medical grade) software platforms for hearing devices. The work program comprises application-specific processors, a hardware accelerator for deep neural networks (DNNs), multi-platform software architectures for dedicated processors, smartphone apps and cloud-based services as well as inter-operability with cochlea implant research interfaces. The goal is to develop miniaturized demonstrators with optimal trade-off between processing power and power consumption as well as a maximum number of supported hardware platforms.
